I love this. I just got a bunch of slip bowls out. I am glazing this week baby!! Maybe I can make you one and we can do an exchange. Not of a stone..way to heavy..

Thanks. You mean like the black with the bright multi colored square pattern one but not a tray? [wink] Do you slip cast them yourself or do you have a local place you can buy cast pieces?
I haven't anything other than pendants to offer. If we traded for one of them I think I would rather have an oppourtunity to make you something custom. Maybe a surprise. I've not gotten my hands muddy for 3 months. Mid Feb when I get back from AZ I will have some studio time. Still, it will take two months to complete something new.

Sounds fun.. yes.,..the black with multi-squares on a plate and bowl for you l;) Yes, I hand slip...used to have a huge mixer... I sometimes by them pre-made but only when I teach large classes.

wow, that's ambitious. I can do that at the studio but I have never tried it. It would be the only way I would get a perfectly round item...lmao.

Made of concrete? Moisture gets in and freezes. Helps if you put a layer of pea gravel under them.
:-)
A little hotter and the clay would actually melt into a glob. Stoneware is so dense from that high fire no water can penetrate it. Mine have lasted forever in -20 winters. As long as there are no depressions for water to lay they are safe. They also do a number on a lawn mower blade. lol.

I thought you had bought it and wondered why you'd photo it haha but great job, looks like something that would be for sale in one of those Muskoka stores I live near. Cottagers would eat it up! :)
