ceramic nautilus beads by Osa-Art-Farm ceramic nautilus beads by Osa-Art-Farm
A sample of three of the 20 nautilus ceramic jewelry pieces I finished this month. Small pendant, bead or charm size, about 3/4". The fronts are glazed with either 'buttermilk' or 'crocus gold'. The backs have an impressed design are hand colored and sealed. Stoneware cone 10.

I made these as part of an exchange with other artists of the Beads of Clay (BOC) on-line group. Another 30 were done in greens with a fern design.

The center one is an example of what is on the other side of the other two. All have the same raised nautalis design on one side and various colors of plain glaze on the other. :-)

when I go to central Texas for the church youth workshop (I'm the "mother figure" there), I will look for ammonites so that I can make my own fossils!

why wait around for 63 million years for a fossil when you can make and raku one yourself?

Gorgeous! I love how wonderfully aged these little gems look - like ancient treasures dug up from a barrow.

You are giving me way too much credit. I made 30+ of these particular ones. I impressed the design with a form I have.
